We do not know who you are, and we are not trying to find out.
The recount page has no account, no sign-in and no tracker. It sets no cookies. This is the whole of it, in plain words.
What we store
One row each time someone converts a video, and it describes the VIDEO, never the person. It holds the video id, its channel id and name, the format, the two view numbers we just showed you, how much of that video’s life ran under the new rule, and its publish date.
Two fields come from your request rather than the video. If you arrived from a link, we keep the bare site name you came from, so instagram.com and never the full address, because a full address can carry a search you typed or a private page you were on. And if the link you followed carried a ?ref= tag, we keep up to 40 characters of it, so we can tell which post sent you.
We keep those rows to see whether the page is useful. They are not linked to a person, so there is nothing in them to look you up by.
What we do not store
No cookies. No IP address. No browser or device fingerprint. No account, because there is no account to make. No advertising or analytics script of any kind, from us or from anyone else.
Who else sees a request
- Google / YouTube. We ask YouTube’s public Data API for the video you pasted, using our own key. Thumbnails and channel pictures load straight from YouTube, so your browser talks to Google the same way it does on YouTube itself.
- Vercel. Hosts the page and, like any web host, keeps ordinary server logs.
- Supabase. Holds the row described above.
- Anywhere you click to. The page links out to reporting and to Google’s own documentation. Once you leave, that site’s rules apply, not ours.
Children
The page is not aimed at children and collects nothing that could identify one.
